1. Agreement to Terms
Welcome to Pet Vault. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pet Vault website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Pet Vault ("we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of Service
Pet Vault is a pet care management platform that allows users to:
- Create and manage pet profiles
- Track health records, vaccinations, and medications
- Log daily care activities
- Set reminders for pet care tasks
- Share pet care responsibilities with household members
- Export pet records and data
3. Account Registration
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
- Keep your password secure and confidential
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
3.2 Account Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.
4. Subscription and Payments
4.1 Free and Premium Plans
Pet Vault offers both free and premium subscription plans. The features available to you depend on your subscription level. We reserve the right to modify plan features and pricing with reasonable notice.
4.2 Billing
Premium subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file for the subscription fee.
4.3 Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
4.4 Refunds
Annual subscriptions are eligible for a full refund within 30 days of initial purchase. Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. Refunds for annual plans after 30 days may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
4.5 Payment Failure
If payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again. After a 7-day grace period, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan. Your data will be preserved, but you may lose access to Premium features.
5. User Content
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including pet photos, health records, and activity logs ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you.
5.2 Content Restrictions
You agree not to submit content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Is false, misleading, or deceptive
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
5.3 Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable, without prior notice.
6. Household Sharing
When you invite others to join your household:
- You are responsible for managing their access permissions
- Household members will have access to pet information within the household
- Activity logs show which member performed each action
- You can remove members at any time
- Premium features require the household owner to have a Premium subscription
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Use automated means to access the Service without permission
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Sell, resell, or exploit the Service for commercial purposes without authorization
- Attempt to reverse engineer any part of the Service
8. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality (excluding User Content) are and will remain the exclusive property of Pet Vault. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks may not be used without our prior written consent.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
PET VAULT IS NOT A VETERINARY SERVICE. The information provided through the Service is for informational purposes only and is not intended to replace professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified veterinarian with any questions regarding your pet's health.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PET VAULT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pet Vault, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
13. Account Termination
13.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by using the account deletion feature in your settings. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
13.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination, except in cases of serious violations.
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Pet Vault regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
